Nanokote WA secured our first major road project in April 2016 with CPB Contractors on the new Mitchell Freeway Extension (MFE). The project consisted of 20,000m2 of limestone noise walls along the western side of the road. Nanokote used a clear sacrificial coating called Guardian Graffiti Shield to protect the limestone from graffiti. During the construction phase Nanokote WA also had to remove up to a dozen graffiti tags on the new limestone walls as part of the contract.
In December 2016 we started the concrete painting with Nanokote ProGuard one-coat anti graffiti paint. The project consisted of;
- 2 underpasses at the Currambine Train Station to match existing paint design on the old underpasses
- 6 pedestrians and fuana underpasses throughout the project
- 1 bus underpass at Clarkson Train Station
- 4 new bridges inc 2 at Burns Beach Rd, Neerabup Rd and Hester Ave
- 4 sections of concrete noise walls all with different paint designs
- 16,000m2 of concrete traffic barriers
- Concrete retaining walls
- and more
The pictures below show the quality of the Nanokote ProGuard finish as well as our attention to detail when it came to the stencilled artwork designs on the noise walls and bridges.
Nanokote WA successfully painted upwards of 60,000m2 on this project with only a very small team of 2 and sometimes 3 people. A small crew meant we were able to maintain quality control on each area, complete each area on time and without any hassle. The project consisted of both day and night shifts during the entire project and we were able to work around CPB’s needs and timeline/planning. It was a pleasure to work with the CPB team and look forward to another opportunity in the future. We are extremely proud of the delivery of this large project.
